We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"Lazy, detached"

What people saw last night was a president that revealed his incompetence, how lazy and detached he is, and how he has absolutely no idea how serious the economic problems of the country are, and how he has failed to even begin to address them. And I think even the liberal press reacted with shock at this revelation, and I find it fascinating, now this morning, after they’ve slept, to watch them all scrambling around to clean up the mess the president left on the floor last night.


On the other hand, Mitt Romney came in with a lot of specifics, a lot of very sharp knowledge of issues, not only with the Obama-version of bumper-sticker numbers, but the governor showed that he understand policies and he understand how to make policy into law talking about what he did in Massachusetts.

I've been watching the same thing. 'They' are tripping over 'themselves' to be the best apologist. Sickening (but also hilarious) IMO.

Very true.

The Peter and Dilbert Principles come to mind, also. But, then again, he reached that level years ago as a legal prof.

How he managed POTUS is a mystery... uh huh. ;)

Obama is at best a post turtle and at worst a neo-Manchurian candidate. His backers and supporters will do whatever it takes to get him elected. We will see the worst election on record for fraud and the media will hide it from us and the Republicans will roll over, as usual. Obama doesn't need to win the debates to win. His neferious supporters only have to stuff the ballot boxes in about 15 counties which will decide the election. Nothing Obama does or fails to do will give the Republicans states like California. The election will be decided in a handful of swing states and it will be decided by unions, NAACP, ACORN and a handful of other groups that have already spent months on the groundwork to defraud the voters. Watch and see. In Ohio and Florida more votes will be cast then registered voters and nothing will be done about it. At the same time the Democrats will go into full press mode to prevent the counting of military ballots. You don't own this country the Chicago mob does.
