We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Not sure whom he includes in 'we in the West' but the bulk of Europe's politicians still adhere to multi-culturalism. And given all his previous ranting about Christians i doubt that I'm included in his 'we in the West' anyways.

I do find it hilarious that wackos in Pakistan were offended by what they heard about a You Tube video - so they burned down their own theaters. Not the brightest bunch.

For those who really want a taste of what the last week or so has dredged up, you need to go to youtube and view the post-9/11/12 Ann Barnhardt video. In summary, she pulls out an official Koran from which she proceeds to read selected passages (kill the infidels, etc.). The sections to be read are each conveniently bookmarked by a strip of bacon. Once read, she then tears the page out of the book and burns it in a glass beaker. Finally, for anyone who might be interested in discussing the subject of Islam further, she provides her residential address. Several days ago the video had 44,000 views. Make no mistake, folks, the temperature is rising on both sides.

I guess BD was thinking that this was actually a joke - that there is a Western Society that will not bend to the breaking point because of radical extremists who have no concern for non-Muslims and, as Condell says are eternally offended by anything in the West (and quite a lot of things in the East also I might add).

Maybe I'm wrong and that there really is a backlash with some chance of success forming in Europe. And that there are enough people here in the US who are determined that what has happened to Europe vis a vis radical Islam (why would there be a question?) would never happen here.

I certainly don't agree with everything Condell has to say, but I hope he (and the rest of us) are allowed to continue to say things that might be unpopular to some or even many. He certainly has more balls than most and for that I applaud him.

Broad brush? Ever been to the ME? Ever see a male beat the living crap out of a woman, in a public place (say, a KFC, waiting for chicken), just for the act of turning about to see who was lined up behind her? It was brutal, and all I could do to the two Women soldiers I was with to stop from capping his A$$.

Add to that, the Philipino 'workers' they hire to do the work a common Saudi would NEVER do, but they often get treated brutally, and are often found dead by outside of town, dead of 'natural causes'.

And, for such Islamic inclusiveness. try practicing anything but 'THE Religion of Piece', and see how much 'love' you encounter. Its not Mana from the Heaven's you'll get most often; its AK lead and triggered explosives.

Funny, I really don't see the Pope and other Christian sects marching into the heathen areas, rounding them up, and just mowing them down with the Armalites or FN-FALs... Nor do you see a Papal 'Mullah' on the B-52s on their bomb-runs?

Good Intentions and Kumbiya, and all that, but reality is more realistic

I forget where I heard this expressed but..'everything I wanted to know about Islam I learned on 9/11'. It's not a religion, not a race...not anything. If there was no 'religion of peace' then the world would be peaceful.
