Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

New Layout Boat

Craig's New Layout Boat, and some hunting photos

Layout boats fool ducks. Here's the new one, on Saturday on Long Island Sound, surrounded by Bluebill decoys. You just lie down in it and hope a big wave doesn't drown you. You tow it out and anchor it. Another boat has the dog, etc. (Click Continuation Page below to see photo of Harley)

What a lovely dog! We retrievers believe that the main purpose of hunting is to spend lots of time outdoors with our faithful pets, and the shooting is just windowdressing...

Boat looks like fun but any self-respecting duck could spot it a mile off. Reminds me of the little kid covering his eyes and crowing "I hiding...you can't see me!" Ah, boys and their toys, gotta love 'em!

No need to gloat, Great White Hunter! Some of us have only supermarket fowl in the freezer. How's about sharing some of your largesse? Christmas is coming and all...Guess I'll just go gnaw on some nitrate soaked Shoprite ham bone and think longingly of the pampered pets in your neighborhood who get duck...Merry Christmas! You deserve every luscious carcass, and hope your family appreciate all you bring em... Howl...whine...whimper hungrily....turn around three times and go to sleep....
