We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Yes, the electorate has never been capable of critical thought PRJ. somehow we've muddled along anyway, by at least avoiding the worst idiocies. I frankly don't know how - we've made some horrible electoral decisions - just better enough than other countries to have some advantage and peace.
Married woman with two grown children? Statistically, those voted overwhelmingly Republican anyway. If the franchise was limited to people who had raised two children to adulthood, the Democratic Party would cease to exist. The message needs to get to those kids playing basketball, that a president being cool is irrelevant.
Assistant VIllage Idiot
I seem to recall Winston Churchill observing something to the effect that democracy was a terrible form of government, except for all the other forms which were far worse. If anyone has the exact quote, please give it to me.
Good ad. It's real and speaks to legitimate concerns that many have regarding our children's futures. It seems many people don't pay too much attention to politics when things are going OK or better. Now, that folks have seen the results of the promised "change" they're looking more carefully. It'll be interesting to see what happens in Nov.
