I find it interesting that an act that typically involves one man and one woman is always discussed as though it is only men participating.

An interesting story: A researcher was studying why some marriages last 50 plus years and most do not. In the interview of these long term relationships one of the question asked was did you have sexual relations with your spouse to be before marriage. About 80% of the men said yes but less then 30% of the women said yes. An interesting selective memory problem.

I loved your statement "marry for love, only pick someone you would be happy to eat a crust with". I truely believe that love is the best and perhaps the only reason for marriage. However I think the reality is that many women marry for money and many men marry for lust and that seems to be what nature intended. It may sound a little tawdry to actually say it but that is what humans have done their entire history. Arguably the reason that today so many women have children outside of marriage and so many children are raised in a one parent home is because the government is now providing the "money" that a husband used to provide.
