Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Let No Crisis Go to Waste or...
Great Memes Think Alike or... The Dems Are Sharing a Brain... IL Senator Dick Durbin held a press conference yesterday, noting that the devastating tornadoes in Texas were only a warning that if GOP Rep. Paul Ryan's budget was passed, the ability for the government to forecast weather and give sufficient warning to the public would be greatly -- tragically --impaired due to lack of new weather satellites. That was followed by a commercial from IBM touting its new system that collects reams of complex data for highly accurate weather forecasting, potentially giving the public days of warning prior to disruptions. Not sure about war, but they have endorsed the Democratic candidate for President since 1960.
New York Times Endorsements Through the Ages If you hover over the timeline, it will give a snippet of their endorsement. (They did endorse Republican Abraham Lincoln—before the beard, though.) Budget Will Make Weather Predictions Less Accurate
Less accurate than they already are? I highly doubt it. :>) --so, no budget cuts will keep weather predictions more accurate? Is this fair to hunter-gatherers who have no signals receivers with which to hear them?
This is another one of those scornful hyperbolic claims based on funny government accounting where a reduction in spending from a proposed budget increase is called either "savings" or a "budget cut." You can tell that Obama is just itching to raise federal spending another big notch using Yuans borrowed from the Chinese in order to buy his re-election. More "Obama Dollars" for his supporters....
Just a few years ago when the federal budget was half the size it is today, we managed to do all those same things Obama says we can't do without a budget that's twice the size it is today. I'd believe that magnitude of hyperinflation in spending is possible if he were talking about Zimbabwe, but the US hasn't yet been reduced to such desperate straits despite Obama's economic incompetence. Or maybe the he's insinuating it has. Ever read the Fred Sauer Matrix? He's an interesting guy --mid 60s so he has lots of memory reality of USA postwar, and he started out a union railroad man, and he ended up now with his own private investment company. Anyhoo, here's one of his columns, related to your comment i think:

That is the most annoying thing about the link system. For some reason, it doesn't like something in the link and it rejects it outright, but you can place the URL in the text without a problem.
Crazy. I know sometimes it doesn't like things like periods and quotation marks. RE: Sauer - Well, it certainly is possible, but I don't think it's that critical - yet. What I'm waiting for is a signal from the Obama camp when his poll numbers start to implode so badly that even the MSM can't over compensate to hide the decline. That signal will be a "crisis" - a manufactured "crisis" that will require Marshall Law. Something like an incident where an hispanic neighborhood watch member shoots a black teenager in self-defense after being attached. The President and his race baiting compatriots fabricate evidence, stoke the racial fires and create a civil race war. But that couldn't happen - that's just fantasying. Buddy, it could be how you're formatting the link.
http://www.fredsauermatrix.com/72-The-Death-of-America-in-2015.html Here's the format to make the address a link. (There are no quotation marks around the URI and be sure to use square brackets). http://www.fredsauermatrix.com/72-The-Death-of-America-in-2015.html ... .. . The other option is to make text into a link.
Fred Sauer Matrix Here's the formatting. (Again, there are no quotation marks in the link, but in this instance make sure NOT to include the forward slash). \Fred Sauer Matrix ... .. . Thanks youz guyz for the time and eff-art --but --as i tried to 'splain to doc once upon a time in a massive several-day-long collision of continental misunderstanding on his part, ''tha's ZACKLEY how i been doon it!''

Is there a better live performance then this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCrbziy20aU Maybe, but for my money, it's combining "Deck The Halls" with "I fought the Law" and actually getting away with it.
Live. :>) Whoops - pulled the trigger too quickly.
