We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
As long as 95% of blacks vote for a candidate based on race, I see no chance of race not being the determining factor in an election.
When the black vote splits between parties, I'll consider the racism problem solved.
Missed this before. Thanks for the rerun. Had to watch it several times after a weekend with my friends and family who are so multi-cultural that, after two years when this was filmed, the whole construct is different. Would appreciate some comments from others on your site
If this were to be shown in every high school and on every college campus, or even on every tv station in the country, it might just help change the perception of racism and who is racist in this country. Unfortunately, it won't be. I agree with PacRim Jim - when the black vote splits between parties, I'll consider racism solved. Or, when I witness the end of blacks and females being vilified for being conservative, then maybe we will have made some progress. I fear we have a long way to go.
