Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Got an idea - the UNternet: Let the UN start their own internet. Why didn't the UN think of that? All it takes is a big server and a good programmer. And they can build in all the controls China and the other dictator countries want, from the ground, up. It will be a big hit - Go For It, UN! How dare those guys trash my ancestor?!?! He was a Renaissance man when their forefathers were picking the raccoon from between their teeth. Thomas Jefferson was the greatest of his peers. Yes, he was a man of his time, and imperfect, and yes, his understanding of Christianity was pathetically limited. He was a sinner in his way as we all are in ours. But he was a genius. As few before or since have been. And he had a wonderful dream for America, long before that overplayed adulterer did. Americans are afraid of true intelligence, that's why they elect morons and corrupt buffoons for presidents these days.
