We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Mr. Hannan is a genuine spellbinder. I've been watching the Internet for him since about a year ago when a speech he made at the EU was carried on the Internet. He addressed the Prime Minister of Britain saying "prime minister, you have now spent all of our money." I would love to have some U. S. Senator say this to feckless Obama.
At any rate, this speech videoed above is a masterpiece, with echoes of Maggie Thatcher's skills.
Where can we find such American men to lead us? Certainly not in the academic world, nor in the White House.
This speech was fantastic. Any chance we can get him to give the republican response in the next State of the Union address? I am not sure if he is as sharp as I think he is or it just sounds better from a Brit.
These people give me hope- Daniel Hannan, Paul Ryan, Alan West, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Thad Cochran and Sarah Palin. Sad that none are running for President.
