We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There is nothing in the world like thin crust NYC pizza. Cheese pizza. Nothing but cheese, tomato sause, a few spices, herbs and dough.
I will give NYC credit for that. And the NYC Knife and Gun Club who was very generous to an older precepting paramedic and showed him trauma like he had never seen before with the sole exception of Vietnam. Great bunch of guys and gals.
Hey BD--do you remember--do you remember the tomato sauce of long time ago? Back in the fifties a school friend's parents moved out from Chicago and opened the first pizza place I had ever seen. I still long for that old fashioned sauce. You are a discerning gourment, perhaps you know what the evolution of tomato sauce has been over the past 50 years. Today's sauce even in the best places seems only to have tomato with a layer of herbs added on top of the tomato flavor--not integrated.
