Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Life is so much safer, softer, and more secure today than the life humans were made for, that those with cajones have to seek out and invent new dangers to test their courage against.

I admire this.

I second Bird Dog. There aren't enough frontiers left to conquer so you have to invent some. To dare is to be alive - at least that's my opinion.

I've seen the bodysuit gliders before. They are amazing. But it's also relatively safe, from what I've read about it. Like anything, follow the rules......

The other stuff is great. I would love to try some of those things. But my wife won't even let me try bungee jumping.

My hands started sweating at the moment the skier was grappling the snow at the edge of the avalanche...and then came the falling rope walker.
