We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
--y'know, they're crying for roughnecks in the Eagleford down on the border. It may be no country for old men, but, Lordy Mercy, it's great for the OWS cohort. The pay is great, and wine, women, and song just over the river. Yep, the drug wars are ongoing, but the extent of the danger is WAY overblown, and restricted to known areas. Mexico's GDP is growing four times ours and the Peso is appreciating against world currencies. That's two objective signs that there's no chaos in most of the country.
And yet after all these many days, not once have they demanded a reform of regulations to make it easier for businesses to be formed so that they could escape the evil corporations and be their own boss.
It's like they can't comprehend accumulating their own capital, purchasing their own stock and applying their own labor to it before trading it for a profit on the stock after paying themselves the wages and perhaps even the rent.
It's almost like they've never applied any critical thinking to the concept of work, well any thinking for that matter.
