Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A Country Doctor's Notebook

Mikhail Bulgakov's 20th century classic, The Master and Margarita, was not his only book. Among other works, he wrote the little-known A Country Doctor's Notebook before he left medicine to become a full-time writer.


The former is a masterpiece, with Pontius Pilate playing a major role. The latter is plain wonderful.

The Master and Margarita - haven't heard about that book in years. First heard of it from a girl I met in Venice who happened to be reading it. Always meant to read it but never did and then forgot about it. On the Amazon wish list it goes.
