We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I am kind of embarrassed for him because I admire his musical abilities and would like to see more original work from him, but his "brand" will make his galleries money, and he will continue to pump out derivative "Matisse Lite" as long as his admirers will buy it. Lest I sound completely self-righteous, almost everyone who makes a living in art paints a portion of their work with less sophisticated buyers in mind, whether using somewhat brighter colors or mass appeal subjects. Most affluent art buyers are not serious aesthetes. Bob seems to have jumped on this train, and I can't blame him if he needs the money.
