We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
One of his best, I think. 1997, such a short time ago. Song brings tears to my eyes. Even if you aren't a fan, give this a try - do it for me, your Editor Dog in Chief:
Happy Birthday my friend with many more to come. I didn't know or I would have baked a cake - on second thought no, that wouldn't have worked because I can't cook for squat. I could have bought one though. :>)
I'm not a Dylan fan by any stretch, but he does occasionally push the limits of genius singer/writer description hard and this is one of them. What a great song and the backup band is classic Dylan too. Good tune - no, great tune.
Happy Birthday --and thank you, sincerely and profoundly, for all the great thoughts and links you've spent the altruistic effort to make available here.
On matters of some importance, whether to laugh or cry, giggle or fret, in most cases probably needfully, that without your effort we'd never have seen.
HBD BD! Because of you I almost purchased a Dylan compilation in the $5 CD bin at WalMart. Consider that progress since I used to really not care for Bob. Also, I dislike yankees slightly less because of your efforts.
Thank you and your highly-paid, professional staff for all you do here.
