Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Where, today?

Mrs. BD is dragging me to see this. I hope I at least get a good NYC lunch out of this because fashion is not really my thing. Being a decent husband is.


Apparently it is tough to get into the show without being a member, which we are. Very long lines, otherwise. I think NYC has more fashionistas per square mile than either Paris or Milan.

I'm not either being a plain dresser - the Mrs. forces me to buy good clothes all the time, but they just look like sacks of cloth on me.

I look much better in a guide shirt, jeans and sandals. :>)

Keep an open mind - when we lived in NYC the Met's Costume Institute consistently surprised me with exhibits that made cultural/artistic connections way beyond clothes or fashion.

There can be something very intimate in viewing clothes actually worn by other people.
