We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
definitely. that wasn't my first choice of comment but the spam filter demanded some more verbiage. i realize i feed the spambots everytime i write, but this useless drudgery has to have some payoffs and am saying i like this invocation. samuel johnson
I watched that happen live - it was absolutely wonderful. You really have to admire a preacher who gets it - product placement, endorsements, popular NASCAR culture including Ricky Bobby taking the time to poke some fun at it including himself and make it all a prayer.
Here in central Illinois, it is either Nehi Grape or RC and a Moon Pie. I like the peanut butter and the mint chocolate ones. All moon pies are nice, but the newer ones are fun to eat. Moon Pies are a lot less expensive than girl scout cookies and easier to find year round.
I agree that it's not all fire and brimstone , but there has been fire and brimstone sent by God , and there will be again . I don't know if God has a sense of humer or not , but I do know that he loves us and demands our respect , and fear .
