We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Jeffrey Pelt in Hunt For Red October: "I'm a politician, which means I'm a cheater and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops." More memorable quotes from the wonderful film here.
Not being qualified to offer a psychological diagnosis I'm only able to ascribe an adjective that feels semantically appropriate. Pathological liar seems a bit under-gunned for a piece of work like Obama so I'm going to have to go with sociopath. It's still weak tea but it's further along the road towards my perception of the man.
Yes, yes. I know sociopath is a noun. I forget I'm commenting around a really smart crowd at Maggie's and boneheaded comments register as, well...boneheaded.
My intention was to use the term 'sociopath' loosely as a descriptor. Clinical definitions aren't within my purview, although I'll gladly throw jargon around if the game is bit away from precision and bent rather towards force.
