We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Yes, the Hinkleys are pretty boats, but Hinkley has gone all corporate having changed hands recently. As an old-time sailboat maker, now they are reported to be making 95% powerboats in the Picnic boat and Talaria class.
If I had 1000 boat bucks ($1,000,000) to spend I'd probably go for a San Juan with IPS rather than a Jet which doesn't handle as well at low speed.
Sheesh. Its a nice looking (used!) boat, but way, way overpriced. Better to find some boatbuilder that needs the work and can do the job for $200K; they're out there and not that hard to find. Come on out to the Pacific Northwest - I'll be happy to show you more than a few.
