We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
...longtime anti-gun activist Sarah Brady has said that in March, the president told her “I just want you to know that we are working on [gun control] ... We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”
RC's, at least in my experience, have always been somewhat casual in our approach to mass. We don't dress particularly nice, we certainly can't sing worth a flip, and many of us seem to be more interested in the social activities after mass than the mass itself. But I have to say that between behavior described in the post by the Anchoress, and the fact the priests never say anything during the homilies, mass is getting harder to take seriously.
A quick scan of the comments to the Anchoress post reveals that I am not alone in my crankiness.
