Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Existence of 200 ‘uncontacted’ tribal people in Brazilian rainforest confirmed (PHOTOS)"
This same organisation has been known to fabricate "evidence" of "uncontacted" or "unknown" tribes in the Amazon jungle in order to push their agenda. These look little different from their prior attempt to do so, same angler, same style, no geographic features to show where they were taken (so just the group's claims to it), etc. etc.. I call it a hoax for now. Re: Greenpeace
The first blatant lie I remember was concerning the Brent Spar. It was a Shell oil storage buoy from the North Sea that was scheduled for scuttling. Greenpeace claimed it had 5000 tons of oil on it. When it finally won requiring Shell to dismantle it on land, it was discovered that Greenpeace was lying. It's been a grand tradition for them that certainly didn't start there, but continues today. It's nice to have something constant in this turbulent world! QUOTE: The Left would love the economic chaos - and the theft from the banks The banks are economic chaos, Dog. They are the unelected monetary monopoly and they are the single greatest threat to American sovereignty. They are Cloward Piven writ large. As for theft, they stole ninety-six cents from every dollar, and they stole our liberty and properties for the hundred years the fiat monetary system has plagued this nation. It has nothing to do with borrowing money. It has to do with owning money.
Fiat currency is debt. The Federal Reserve is an unelected cabal. It is antithetical and ultimately ruinuous to the American Republic. Yall's yankee government indeed forces all of us to borrow every time it borrows...forcing even the unborn, now.
There's nothing new about that. It's been going on for generations!
Great then. It'll all turn out fine.

Yes. You see that the longer something is done, the more it will be said that it's always been done. Things that "have always been done" can be done forever - or until they can't. Of course, the reason the can no longer be done is always the fault of the people who said it was unsustainable...

The banks are chaos only because of the massive leftist inspired "regulation" and "oversight" which forces them to do economically irresponsible things and makes economically sensible business practices illegal.
You too need to grasp how "progressive" fiat currency works inside of a fractional reserve banking system. It's far more insidious than you can remedy by blaming the left. I can assure you that it is well beyond "only because of the massive leftist inspired 'regulation' and 'oversight''.
I would gladly sign on with a cash-only doctor if available here. I could drop the HMO and just buy catastrophic insurance instead if the numbers worked. The government is going jump in, however, and make sure the pesky free-market stays out of health-care.
So many things to comment on.
1 - TV. It has been dead for years - it just doens't know it. I just found out last night that I have 300 TV channels - 3 freakin' hundred channels and I'll bet you, hell - I know for a fact, that I've only watched five on a regular basis - none of which are major broadcast networks. Mainstream TV sucks anyway - lousy scripting, lousy acting, lousy writing - broadcast TV is all crap and not worth the time. I'd rather, and often do, read a book or take a ride on the boat or anything other than watch TV. 2 - Cash docs. My daughter does something similar. It would take too long to describe her practice, but if insurance isn't available, its a sliding scale and if that doesn't work, then it's "what 'cha got". Its remarkable what she has done - she obtains treatment for her patients almost on a Priceline.com basis - has a Nurse Practitioner who is also an MSW who does wonders with hospitals and drug companies for folks who can't pay or have limited ability to pay. I'm still waiting for her to find a patient who has a '70 SS 396 El Camino that I can buy (at a fair price too boot). :>) 3 - Unknown aboriginal people. Hey, if they can find uncontacted humans living in a primal state, then its only time until they find Sasquatch - who just may be hiding in the Brazillian Rain Forest. 4 - Greenpeace, Global Warming, et. al. Lie? Environmentalists? NASA? NOAA? NOOOOO!! Say it ain't so!! Agree with the exception of Modern Family...the first show I've enjoyed and actually laughed out loud at since Arrested Development.
