Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re dude, where's my freedom:
Warren at Coyote Blog just posted on Government agencies with no relation to law enforcement, building their own private police organizations. I suspect they must then use said forces or risk losing them in the budget process. Candidate 0bama said he wanted a domestic security force funded as well as the military. perhaps this is how he planned to do it? One commenter said that these private enforcement units were staffed by left wing zealots. The Green Police with guns. http://www.coyoteblog.com/coyote_blog/2011/06/arming-government-agencies.html i know it goes way back beyond the Reichstag Fire, so why would we be surprised now to see the DoE buying thousands of 12 ga riot shotguns? Leave nothing unexploited! The modern era began at Oklahoma City --and plenty of those folks are in this admin. Eric Holder, for one huge example.
Regarding the church fires, there's a conceptual link to the Atlanta child-murders of the 1980s.
Something like 25 children who were black were murdered by a serial killer over several years. If I recall correctly, they were all either young boys or small teens. Profilers and people with some knowledge of serial killers would immediately suspect a killer of the same race as the victims because that is how most serial killers operate. Eventually a suspect was identified and linked to the murders by physical evidence. A jury convicted him -- and by golly, the man convicted was black. The murders ceased. In the meantime, the murders had been embraced as some kind of racial issue. I assume the people wearing ribbons, like NBA players, thought the police were investigating lazily or thought the killer was a racist. Neither was true and there was never any evidence to support either idea. what's wrong with this:
1) admin declares war on coal 2) admin subsidizes electric vehicles (GM itself, and furthermore the $7,500 taxpayer-funded rebate on the Volt --which can't sell 1000 units/month even so) 3) most electricity comes from coal Not only that, but Admin put the kibosh on Yucca Mountain as a repository for nuclear wastes- which apparently was done without proper process- which puts the kibosh yet another electricity process.
What do you expect of an Administration whose Interior Secretary misrepresented what experts had said about the safety of offshore drilling in the wake of the BP blowout in the Gulf? What do you expect of an Administration who blamed an entire industry for the rogue operations of one company? [I know someone who retired from BP instead of accepting a promotion which would have made him a sitting duck for BP's refusal to keep equipment properly maintained.] I see that as Obama saying, "if one of my big campaign contributors must be shut down, I will shut down all in the industry." But what else could be expected from an Administration whose fearless leader showed during the 2008 campaign both his gross ignorance about energy issues, and his refusal to admit his gross ignorance about energy issues? But we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much! http:// @@@@@@@@@ deanesmay.com/2008/08/04/inflated-claims/ Again, !@@#$#$$ spam prevention wouldn't accept link. oh, man --don't get me started on THAT 'derived-crisis' --the book remains to be written on THAT sucker.
Steyn never fails to satisfy. I'm amazed that our Canuk refugee is still sticking around our Three-ring circus.
RE - church fires. Yeah, its amazing how much is held as belief, but is based on bubkis... but, if its lib/progressive projected, its usually either based on feelings, 1/4 truth, or outright bovine fertilizer.... Calling Dr. Mercury.

Owning every tree from the Pacific to the Missouri in the late 1880's gave rise to the largest timber company in the world. The income from that enterprise provided the financing for the upstart companis called Boeing and US Bank. In turn the next generation of original families built NORDSTROM, UPS, COSTCO, MICROSOFT. Now, unfortunately for the rest of us, those families and the union that confronts them regularly really, really, really want strong commercial relationships with the Chinese. Of course being located in one of the few really great and protected deep water ports has always been a major facet of these industries. But now, that is no longer enough. The Chinese government wants something more---they want our civil rights reduced (so there people won't become so uppity). They want these families to reduce freedoms in many areas in exchange for their "commercial position" in China. Thus you have Microsoft paying Billions of dollars every year just to try to get greater control over the internet. You have a major city and state with completely corrupted legislative and election processes. AND, most terrifying of all you have these people reaching across America to make sure you all co-operate on the new rules! If you question my logic just take a look at what the local gals have managed to do to the entire Episcopal, Methodist, and Lutheran churches in America. Their values strengthened the individual's ability to resist--can't have that in the new "China Friendly US". The New World Order. I quit laughing at it about two years ago.
Dude, Where’s My Freedom?
With respect to terrorism, the government should adopt a proactive foreign policy that actually tackles the threat of Islamic totalitarianism, rather than harassing law-abiding travelers. . Major problem of Islamic terror for US is domestic not foreign. |
