We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Nice hiking trail through Vermont. I did parts of it years ago. 200+ miles across the state as I remember.
Inn at Long Trail has a cozy Irish pub. It's across from the entrance to Pico but I havn't been there for 20+ years. The last time I was there Killington and Pico were still seperate resorts.
Long Trail the brewery makes some good beer. Back in the day when it was really tiny - they had a beer that was out of this world - I think it was a nut brown. That was when mico brews were in their infancy and the brewery was tiny and in a basement. Their tasting room was 4 or 5 stools and a bar looking at the botteling line. The last time I had some of their beer - it was still good - but not like it remembered it. Maybe my taste buds have become acustomed to better beer - now that more of it is available.
Minor corrections:
Long Trail- goes from North VT to ?
Appalachian Trail goes from Maine to GA
Part of Long Trail is also Appalachian Trail.
I think Long Trail continues into MA.
Long Trail Inn is a bar at the top of the Sherburne Pass (RT 4) Which is where the picture is from.
Long Trail Brewery is in Bridgewater COrners, VT. They have a decent lunch menu, close at 6PM, and produce some mighty fine beer
