We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Great demonstration. My favorite handgun is the .357 magnum - mine is mounted on a .38 frame, single action hammerless. Love it.
A couple of years ago, some blog posted a poll asking former military types what one weapon changed the whole dynamic of infantry warfare. I made the case for the AK-47 as being the single weapon responsible for changing the face of war - both set piece and insurgent. Looking at this video, I still think I'm right.
.357 mag on .38 frame? Isn't that a little stout for that frame?
I don't have any military background but I agree with you about the AK-47 (as much as I don't want to admit it). It is pretty ugly but dead reliable, cheap, and everywhere. Not terribly accurate, but accurate enough. I like the AR-15 better - it certainly is a much more flexible platform - but I have to admit that for what it was designed for, the AK-47 has the edge.
