We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I dunno ... I think they've got a point. Geronimo was a great warrior and a great chief. It's a disservice to his memory to apply his name to something like bin Laden. I mean, how would you react if he'd been called by the codename 'Patton'?
When I first heard that they were using that as a code word for Osama I said - and posted - "Why would they use the name of such an honorable warrior for scum like Osama?" I'm not arguing this from an ethnic viewpoint but from an appreciation for the qualities of the individuals involved.
