We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I really think the Euros have a much better appreciation for swing and jive than Americans do. A lot of the better swing bands are British or former Eastern European groups.
THAT is a GREAT boogie video, Tom. I'll have to explore some of his others.
As to being able to jitter-bug, I only learned the toned down lindy-hop of the early '50s. Still works.
The "Blue Moon" video is good - it takes a while to get going, but once it does, it works.
Another example of Eastern European groups is Perpetuum Jazzile - don't know if you've ever seen it, but I know you like acappella. This choir is great.
Bruce, you lovely man. You take me back to the forties and fifties when I danced the jitterbug a lot. What a wonderful, happy cheerful dance it was. Made you feel happy just to watch it. And if you could dance it, so much the better.
