We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Made for a very nice dog walk this morning. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I feel sad, however, for the poor osprey who has just returned from Venezuela or thereabouts. Saw him (or her) on the nesting tower for the first time two days ago. This was a tough winter and the nest was completely obliterated and he just sat up there looking dejected. And today he sat up there in the snowfall.
I can almost hear the thing telling itself that next year it will just stay down south.
I hope that picture is not the "snow again" snow. Here in Alberta we regularly get frost that shows more white than that. LOL. We also in the last 3 days have had more than a foot here in Central Alberta.
