We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

For whatever reason, to me nothing says "I'm a duck" like the head of a male Mallard. It's like the other ducks are just impostor wannabes. I mean, look at Wood Ducks. Just fancy-pants metrosexuals and their drab put-upon wives.
Launched my 17ft Grumman square stern with a 2hp 4stroke on the Housatomic river in Western, MA yesterday. It was amazing at very high water as we cruised several miles of river and put up literally more ducks and geese than we could count. Ducks commonly flush and then just fly around the next bend so of course, after a while we were flushing dozens again and again. It was cool. My buddy and me took 19 geese last fall and a handful of ducks so it was a pretty good year waterfowling.
