We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Thanks heavens for the French and the UK. They nudged the O into some sort of commitment before he left for Rio. Then Khadaffi totally ignores the U.N. and starts bombing his people. THEN French jets take up the fight. Wow! You can't even take a nap without somethin' happenin' here. The O should kiss the feet of our European allies who he has so remarkably dissed during his reign in Washington.
Juan Paxety--As a cradle Episcopalian I agree with you, although the theological destruction in the 1979 Book of Assorted Services is even worse. The worst is the service of Baptism, which is no longer Christian as interpreted by the Episcopal Church. Instead, you enter a "baptismal covenant" for "social justice." Specifically, "Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?" which is basically codespeak for their leftwing social agenda.
