We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Browner may be afraid of the new congress investigating her hand in enviro disasters from BP to Love Canal. Oh well, now there's at least one mobbed-up communist bachelorette who is not in the Obama administration.
“They still want that, they just want to achieve it in a way that the public will have a much harder time seeing and therefore opposing,” said Ebell.
That was the last sentence in the article and I think said it all. The Greenies and Econazi's are going to go about this behind the scenes with "policies" and "requirements" in stealth mode so it does not attract attention. Obama and his minions aren't stupid and they know that the average Joe does not pay attention to what the bureaucracy does.
And remember, while Browner is gone Lisa P. Jackson is still in charge of EPA and she is as committed, if not more so, than Browner. Jackson is a career bureaucrat starting after graduate school from Princeton. While trained as a chemical engineer, she was never worked in industry starting with the EPA in 1986, head of New Jersey's DEP and John Corizine's Chief of Staff before becoming head of the US EPA. She has no practical experience in industry.
Proof is in the pudding as it were - her memorandum "Seven Priorities for EPA's Future" reads like the ultimate road map to total control of not only the environment but the economy. To wit: in the paragraph titled Expanding the Conversation on Environmentalism and Working for Environmental Justice: there is this statement - "We must include environmental justice principles in all of our decisions. This is an area that calls for innovation and bold thinking, and I am challenging all of our employees to bring vision and creativity to our programs."
It's not a laughing matter - these people are serious and will not stop until they get what they want. And what they want is nothing less than total control of life, the universe and everything in the name of the "environment".
"The environment" --the euphemism of choice for the de-industrialization of America. Folks should look into the Al Gore --Armand Hammer/Occidental --Kremlin connection.
From there to BP and the de facto closing of the Gulf of Mexico, and the current flanking of Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf, is a leap requiring nothing more than an afternoon's reading of material available to 'search' on the internet.
Environmental justice=fewer humans. The enviros are so morally superior that you would think they would lead by example. But people like Al Gore, who wants us to walk and live in a hovel to help the environment, fly in their private jet and live in a mansion.
Meanwhile, as if the situation in Egypt isn't bad enough, Pakistan has illegally imprisoned one of our diplomats, traveling under a diplomatic passport, because he defended himself against two biker thugs who tried to rob him. With true, goofy Muslim logic, the police imprisoned our diplomat and are refusing to admit he is a diplomat, even though he is traveling under a diplomatic passport.
Sound familiar, Bruce, my historian/ retired Marine friend? Back when we had Presidents who had a pair, Teddy Roosevelt said in a similar Muslim situation, "Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead" and he meant it. The US Marines made sure Mr. Perdicaris was returned unharmed by the Muslims
. Now, if we had such a President now, maybe the Middle East would begin to respect us again. I know I would feel safer.
