We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The Beatles. Right time, right place, right people. Amazing what they accomplished in a mere 10 years - a complete revolution in popular music guided by producer George Martin's genius.
By the way, an interesting bit of trivia. The opening chord of the song "Hard Day's Night" was a bit of a mystery - the "Chaaaaaang!" leading into "It's been a hard day's night" - every guitar player in the entire world, including me I might add, tried and tried to replicate that chord and could not figure it out.
Finally, a mathematician, also a guitar player, figured it out. It's a great story.
The evidence was constant and obvious. Paul was totally in love with the Beatles. He couldn't stop smiling, winking and shaking his do because he derived all oxygen and life force from the adoration that the audience gave. Both Lincoln and McCartney will be forever remembered as the zealous and disciplined generals that gave and sacrificed their being to saving the Union.
