Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Incredibly, the MSM is complaining about her rebuttal: http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/01/the-note-obama-palin-and-arizona-a-tale-of-two-speeches.html
There are some sick puppies out there and it seems that a lot of them are in the "news" business. I sure wish I could think, believe, and talk the way Mrs. Palin, does. It sure would make my life a LOT BETTER to live. And make my wife's life a lot easier, too.
This is a very nice lady, she should have been the speaker of the house for the last 12 years. Would have made America's life a LOT better also. A wonderful and touching speech -- but I would expect no less from Sarah Palin.
Marianne Chicklettes like Missy arah we use dub dumb broads cause they just didn't know when to clam up.
You know, Mr. Leag, Governor Palin isn't the one who started this.
What did all those dumb broads call you, by the way? That doesn't take an 8 minute diatribe that shows her ignorance.
What blood libel? Missy Sarah is inventing vocabulary again. Mr. D, What blood libel?, question was meant directed to BD's comment but yall may like to take a swing at it, too.
What is "this" yall think she didn't start? The MSM essentially blamed her for the shooting, Leag. "Blood on her hands" was the phrase they used.
Can you really be this dense? Well the accusations are public knowledge but that ain't blood libel and that is one show of her ignorance.
Meself be certain the shooter ain't Missy Sarah and see no need anyone defend themselves of blame but put the blame on the boy who pulled the trigger. Jumpin' toads Mr. D, some folks blaming blame me and folks like me. So what? Like the fat boy's in Florida her ignorant diatribe is motivated by money not right. Cain't rightly call the little girl Governor as she didn't complete her term, Mr. D.

Okay, I get it now. You've been hating Rush Limbaugh for the past 20 years and now you hate Sarah Palin, too. Because they have a big audience and are rich and famous. You're funny, Leag. For all your commenting here I don't think I ever really realized you were part of that crowd.

Wrong again Mr. D.
“...stick to a discussion of the issues and not get sidetracked by tactics that can be accused of leading to intimidation or harassment.” is what Missy counseled once but she cain't seem to believe her own rheotoric. Consistently wrong puts yall in ignorant chicklette crowd.

One of the sickest "puppies" in the MSM is Paul Krugman. With years of practice at the NYT, he has become the Sirhan Sirhan of character assassination.
Don't hold your breath waiting for a similarly unpartisan (not bipartisan!) speech on any subject, let alone on one where he's been personally attacked as viciously and deliberately as Mrs. Palin has been over this (not that Obama is ever likely to face such attacks, his opponents are too civilised to stoop so low).
I know my comments will inflame the faithful followers of Mrs. Palin but here goes:
@ minute 6:20 -6:35 She says a mouthful. I agree with what she says but disagree with the fact that "we" (the Congress that is who she refers to as "we") remained resolute in preserving freedom. ..."in the aftermath of 911 we had to fight the tendency to trade our freedoms for perceived security." Uh, excuse me but can you all say TSA, Patriot Act, spying on American citizens without warrant, suspension of the Writ of Habeas Corpus, etc. ? She talks a good line, like most politicians, but when it comes to walking the walk she is much the same as her fellow pols. I believe she felt a need to defend her position during the past campaign and did so eloquently but I don't trust her anymore than any other pol. The events of last Saturday in AZ will prove to be a turning point. Go try to order an high capacity gun magazine right now. Never fails! One asshole with a gun acts out his personal dysfunction and the media shills and congresscritters jump all over it as "proof" that we need more "reasonable measure to prevent gun violence. "(the Congress that is who she refers to as "we") "
Wrong, she refers to the American people in general. I would say more "Politically", than "Presidentially". There is a difference. Sadly, we rarely experience it anymore.
no, presidential. She didn't once mention party affilliations of anyone, didn't try to make political capital out of anything.
That's not politics, that's what the presidency should be, doing what you believe deep down is best no matter the consequences for yourself. I did not say "partisan" which seems to be more what your are talking about, JTW.
I'll admit to being impressed. After the way she was battered by the press in 2008, and then resigned as governor, I figured Sarah Palin would never run for office again, much less win. But if she can keep showing this face to the world, and if the lunatics on the left keep making a martyr of her with their incessant attacks that more and more people can now see are simply insane ...
... maybe there's a chance she could win after all. Except I don't think it's the win that drives her, but the chance to serve.
