We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Sarah speaks

She was the first person blamed for the Arizona massacre by angry, hate-filled, destructive Lefty fanatics who have had her in their sights for two years. She speaks out now, presidentially.

I sure wish I could think, believe, and talk the way Mrs. Palin, does. It sure would make my life a LOT BETTER to live. And make my wife's life a lot easier, too.
This is a very nice lady, she should have been the speaker of the house for the last 12 years. Would have made America's life a LOT better also.

Meself be certain the shooter ain't Missy Sarah and see no need anyone defend themselves of blame but put the blame on the boy who pulled the trigger.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a similarly unpartisan (not bipartisan!) speech on any subject, let alone on one where he's been personally attacked as viciously and deliberately as Mrs. Palin has been over this (not that Obama is ever likely to face such attacks, his opponents are too civilised to stoop so low).

I know my comments will inflame the faithful followers of Mrs. Palin but here goes:
@ minute 6:20 -6:35 She says a mouthful. I agree with what she says but disagree with the fact that "we" (the Congress that is who she refers to as "we") remained resolute in preserving freedom.

Uh, excuse me but can you all say TSA, Patriot Act, spying on American citizens without warrant, suspension of the Writ of Habeas Corpus, etc. ?

She talks a good line, like most politicians, but when it comes to walking the walk she is much the same as her fellow pols. I believe she felt a need to defend her position during the past campaign and did so eloquently but I don't trust her anymore than any other pol.

The events of last Saturday in AZ will prove to be a turning point. Go try to order an high capacity gun magazine right now. Never fails! One asshole with a gun acts out his personal dysfunction and the media shills and congresscritters jump all over it as "proof" that we need more "reasonable measure to prevent gun violence.

That's not politics, that's what the presidency should be, doing what you believe deep down is best no matter the consequences for yourself.

I'll admit to being impressed. After the way she was battered by the press in 2008, and then resigned as governor, I figured Sarah Palin would never run for office again, much less win. But if she can keep showing this face to the world, and if the lunatics on the left keep making a martyr of her with their incessant attacks that more and more people can now see are simply insane ...

... maybe there's a chance she could win after all.
