We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Leftism originally created political movements by agitating the masses through a combination of flattering their desires and exaggerating their grievances, but Capitalism baffled the Left by transforming the needy Proletariat into a prosperous Middle Class, while Socialism in the countries where it fully achieved power impoverished everyone outside the Nomenklatura. Socialism consequently collapsed while Capitalism thrived, so the Left went back to the drawing board.
Absent economic grievances, the Left with remarkable ingenuity decided to hitch its wagon to the rising Environmental Movement, and to replace obsolescent economic themes intended to inspire animosity and class division with new, entirely imaginary problems requiring the concentration of power and wealth in the hands of the State.
Rush has been making accusations about this for years, and so have we. It's good to hear somebody confess the scam in public. The innocent, ignorant, and sanctimonious Greenies are the useful idiots in this game.
There might be quite a few Greenies who are ignorant, but very few of them are innocent when it comes to their tactics and what they are trying to accomplish. In their case, ignorance is power because it allows them the luxury of blind faith and loyalty to their movement, its leaders and their openly stated goals, which are destructive enough in their own right.
Plus, they couldn't give a fig less as to what most Americans feel about their policies, or what the ultimate result is regarding the economic impact.
What is Jones's purpose? That, for me, is the real question. And it seems that he could easily say that he is trying to promote "green" causes; that reducing atmospheric CO2 is the only goal. If he is doing it in order to impose an authoritarian collectivism on the nation, then he's lying. But how can we determine his truthfulness?
Looking at just what he says, I get the idea that he is telling "green" activists to call it whatever type of crisis they want -- lie about it, in other words -- in order to reduce carbon emissions. End of report.
I insist that CO2 levels do not and can not cause global warming, and that they never have -- claims to the contrary are bogus science. That means Jones and his audience are (at least) uninformed and gullible. It does not follow that Jones is using the "greenies" as puppets to establish socialism. Well, maybe he is, so prove it. Find a video where Jones says, "We gotta impose socialism somehow, Comrades, so pretend there is an environmental crisis and use that to shatter the caplitalist system."
Of course you won't be able to find any such quote. Smoking guns disappear. Remember when Eason Jordan spilled the beans about the mindset at CNN? That video will never be available.
I find it extremely worrying that we're starting more and more greenies and their communist backers openly proclaiming their agenda and means.
To me it indicates that they feel they've won, that there's no more reason to work in hiding and pretend to be honest people who have the best interests of others in mind.
And the only reason I can think of for that is that they really are now in a position where they cannot be dethroned, that their plans have taken on a momentum that cannot be reversed.
