We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There is so much truth in this article. Taxation is only one method of stifling the golden goose. Load her back with packs of dirt and tie her feet together too.
Vaguely related: I think I'm going to try to do two things when shopping. If I'm going to buy an imported item, I'll try to favor (in order) South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Second, I'm going to look harder to avoid GE products, regardless of where they are manufactured. GE's rent-seeking has me completely disgusted.
Supplemental: thriving societies in Korea, Taiwan and Japan and good for their people and good for our people. In the discussion of how our government stifles our own companies, let's be careful to remember that prosperity for all is good for all.
Another reason to boycott GE products is that they bring you Marxist-Socialist NBC (MSNBC), and the likes of Comrade Olbermann and Sgt. Schultz. The fact you have an ostensibly American company owning and promoting an anti-American leftist propaganda machine is enough for me to boycott them.
