We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

About Tiger's worker-deaths factoid.
Roughly 1/4 of work-related deaths happen in traffic accidents. More men take jobs that cause them to drive and that would increase our exposure. Bizarrely, almost 20% of work-related deaths are homicides, but I didn't get an occupational breakdown. I know that cab drivers and convenience-store clerks are vulnerable to homicide; cab drivers are predominantly men. Most of the remaining deaths are due to falling off of something -- most of those workers are construction workers, again predominantly men.
One more point: I believe that far more women than men work part-time and that would change their exposure to workplace hazards.
There's no gender bias in the actual incidents. There's some gender role distribution of men and women in the work force, of course. I think you're right, though, that this would be portrayed as some kind of patriarchy-conspiracy if women were even 60% of workplace fatalities.
Schwarzenegger, a man whose life is an illusion (a body builder, an actor and a politician) wants to work for a suit without a President to cure the hysterical fantasy Global Warming? Someone pinch me!
Now if we could only spin all of this off to the UN and offshore it to Brussels or Zurich and replace the entire foolishness with the United Anglospheric Nations we might get somewhere.
