Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

i started looking into manufactured crises some time ago and it wasn't long 'til i could imagine that moment under the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
I just wanted to say thanks for the link. Don't be a stranger!
I've seen that sign somewhere - can't remember where though.
"Wind/solar scam market" - I find it interesting that wind and solar projects are languishing and/or in their dath throes. A few years back, a company called Ocean Power Delivery (now called Pelamis Wave Power) wanted to put four of these machines off shore at Point Judith, RI as a demonstration project producing 3 megawatts of power - enough to supply a good portion of the power needs for Point Judity and surrounding areas. No money from the Feds or State - just private money wanting to use a completely natural energy resource in an area known for constant wave activity in a test proof-of-concept project. A lot of people objected to Palamis's proposal including my fishing club. Town and State had more objections than you could shake a stick at never mind all the negative commentary from the fishing community and the general public. The project was never started. Flash forward to 5 years ago - windmills, Federal/State money, grants, blah, blah, blah - lobbyists from manufacturers (a Danish firm and GE) pushed the projects through the legislature, etc. Now there ugly windmills. It is pretty obvious that there was (or maybe even still is) a lot of money behind bogus "climate science" and renewable energy sources. And it would seem that those who want to invest with private money are being frozen out of the system by taxpayer money. Until we get the governments out of the climate change and renewable energy business, we ain't never gonna get off of fossil fuels. Lots of good stuff as usual. Thanks!
And since some of the above touches on the climate issue, here's this: I just heard on Rush's show, regarding something said by Lord Christopher Monckton (brilliant British climate-change skeptic) about the closed-door Cancun negotiations. He said (according to Rush; I haven't found other confirmation yet) that on the table is a proposal for the USA to send 1.5% of GDP yearly to the U.N., ostensibly to fight "climate change." #1 This infuriates me #2 This scares the crap out of me #3 Who has the authority to do something like this?! Is it executive order? Is congress going to vote on it?! WTF?!!! It's evidently not a done deal, but I'll put nothing past these bastards in power. Not to mention, of course, that the whole global warming/climate change thing is a discredited scam and yet the world continues to use it for selfish purposes. God help us all. RE: Baby Aspirin Linked to Reduced Cancer Deaths
Some chance they reduce heart attacks too. Nothing to lose by taking one. Some folks cannot tolerate aspirin--bleeding can result; so BD you might want to say "may be good for you but check with your doctor prior to starting an aspirin per day" ray Having lived in Alaska i'm certain many chicklettes can shoot better than Palin and don't need two hayseeds' coaching, either and are not impressed by her "political brilliance".
