We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Too true, after a very fertile period for music up until about 1972, there really hasn't been much innovation or new thinking in music. Don't get me started on the general culture and ideas...
Bird Dog, you promised (threatened?) in your Danube trip posts to follow up with some posts about land use laws in Bavaria and Austria. I am curious about your impressions and whether any of their regulations could ever be applicable here in the land of the free.
I appreciate property rights as much as the next guy, but it sure stinks to see our small towns going to seed as our countryside gets consumed by subdivisions and housing developments.
