Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

NPR exists in a kindergarten dream world. NPR has hated Williams since he dared to discuss self-destructive black subcultures. That is a no-no even though everybody knows about it.

Williams' days have been numbered ever since he defended O'Reilly from fabricated charges of racism in 2007.

Williams is one of those rare people, an honest liberal.

It's too bad he is now paying the price for being honest. It's too bad that our media has become so radicalized and dishonest.

I had been under the impression that liberal blacks could still say anything they wanted, lest their critics be accused of being racists, but apparently even they can't say anything that puts Islam in a bad light.

Does that mean that Islam is king of the mountain of politically favored groups, trumping women, gays and people of color?

Put it this way. Of those groups, which group the most likely to do harm to people who say something that "offends" the group?

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Or, the group that is feared the most gets the most favorable treatment. Those who do not want to say something to offend Islam are the true Islamophobes.
