We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
One of the good things about this handyman special on Route 6 in Wellfleet is that you can just walk up the dirveway to the Cumbie and the liquor store. What does anybody really need that cannot be got at one of those places?
Denis, a cumbie in New England is a Cumberland Farms convenience store, it is a local chain. If you are familiar with 7-Eleven, a larger chain of generally larger convenience stores located throughout much of the US, Cumberland Farms is the cozy New England equivalent.
Newspapers, coffee, packaged goods, and much else that one might need on short notice.
