Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A heavyweight

Pence is a serious person. This speech is a serious speech, from Sept 22 at Hillsdale. It's about humility. I encourage readers to enjoy this Washingtonian speech. I would vote for him, but Mrs. BD would happily vote for Sarah:

I would vote for him in a second. I saw him speak at the NRA (sad to see they had endorsed Harry Reid!!!) Annual Meeting in Charlotte. He was one of the better speakers and there were many wonderful speakers (Glen Beck, Newty, Sarah, North, etc.). At this point, there are half a dozen people I'd gladly vote for - including Herman Cain, Newt, Sarah and Jindal to name a few. Some I'd prefer over others but all are preferable to Obummer or any other Democrat that would be considered an opponent.

Pence is really great and seems to have the temperament for the job. I think that might be more than half what is needed for it. I would be ecstatic if he ran. He could only elevate whatever field is running in the primary.

I find myself hugely thankful this Sunday morning for the gift of the internet. What a blessing it is to bypass the gatekeepers and have direct confirmation that our nation and the principles on which it stands are not dead.

Rep. Pence speaks to me. His words are those that I have been waiting to hear from an elected official.
That said, I suspect Ms. Bird Dog may prefer a doer, or one who has proven they understand what it means to govern people and meet a budget. Regrettably Ms. Palin now has baggage that isnt hers.
Rep Pence's sheet shows he is an attorney, a talk show host and a life long politician. At least he isnt a community organizer. His speech was wonderful, but I need to see more than good oratory skills at this point.
