Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I am not part of his world. I view the UN as a clown posse that at best is almost always in the way and at the worst (and more commonly) is demonic.

Ronnie Reagan WAS right that it was really nothing more than a debating society (he said that to Nixon in the '60s), however like other things the loonies on the left and that crawl out from under rocks both large and small, it has started to grow hair and teeth and is becoming more dangerous to freedom by the day.

I have no idea why we put up with them. We ought to tell them that instead of New York, they should move where they are "needed" - like Somalia - where they would be closer to the problem. They would surely not understand that since they obviously think the real problem is us.

Good guess, Feeblemind. Those are what you get your chamois from (if you're a big spender). In fact they are the namesake for the skin - chamois. Sort of a goat-antelope kinda critter. Wouldn't mind seeing 'em live and in person.

Since when has that stopped socialists? Just "reeducate" them by forcing them at gunpoint (or previously, sword's edge) to do what you want them to do.
Works great.
Islamists have watched and learned from that, and for them too it works great.

J. T.Wenting ... You say above that "Islamists have watched and learned from that" meaning the Western World's socialists and communists' forceful reeducation of the masses. Muslims have always, since the Koran was first written, forced strangers at sword's point before there were guns, to do what they wanted, or death resulted. Read Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom, among other books, for some of the more nauseating details.

What they haven't done since the 8th century,, is grow out of this childish and vicious solution to solving confrontations. The Western world has. Now we're having to protect ourselves against these slow learners.
