Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Quick response team


Amid much fanfare, the Democratic National Committee unveiled its inspiring new logo the other day:




Whoops!  My mistake.  That was the prototype.  Here's what the above was eventually reduced to by the DNC graphics department:




Naturally, a number of right-wing bloggers immediately asked the obvious question.


And the answer is...


Not long, not long at all!

The resemblance to the logo is most striking, Doc.

Feebs - Thanks, bud. And I should probably give a hat tip to Theo for the pic. Spotting the resemblence to a toilet was really brilliant on somebody's part.

Now, now, Ray, let's not go to extremes. No one flushed the whole Constitution down the toilet. For example, that part where it talks about the "inalienable right to abortion" is still there, as is the "right to gerrymander districts to best political effect" and force the citizenry to buy health insurance "for the betterment of the people".

No, Ray, I think if you ask any Washington Dem is the Constitution is still there, they'll emphatically insist it is. Well, most of it, anyway. Why quibble over a few amendments?
