We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Simply amazing. Used to be an "armchair" model-railroader. Subscribed faithfully for years to 2 model railroading magazines and even purchased a half-dozen brass engines. After dreaming in the armchair, I finally realized that I didn't have the time, money, nor room although the railroading magazines kept implying "small is beautiful", too. So I went cold turkey. Lapsed the magazine subscriptions and sold off the brass. And surprisingly, just after that out comes Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon computer game (and sequels), Chris Sawyer's Locomotion and other train simulator programs. So whenever I feel the urge, just crank one of these up on the computer and play. Problems of time, money, and room all solved. But if I hit the Lotto tomorrow, I just might start and reconsider "Minatiur Wunderland".
