We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The Obama administration and the Federal Reserve want to fix the United States economy by spending more money. But while that approach might work for Europe, it is risky for the US. The nation would be better off embracing traditional American values like self-reliance and small government.
I guess - what an amazing voice for a ten year old. She's destined for a great career as a lyric soprano if I were to make an off hand guess. Such a mature voice for a young person. When she is a little older, I could see her cast as Magda in La Rondine or Micaëla in Carmen.
She's fantastic. I look forward to hearing her sing when she can physically hold more air and not have to grab for breath. But I'll bet she'll continue to work with vocal coaches and very well may be the greatest American opera star, certainly the greatest of a generation.
