We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I believe that would be the blue-headed hummingpecker, Gwyn. You can see how nature has given it a long snout to fit into hummingpecker feeder bottles. When the fluid runs low, they can peck into bark for natural sugar water.
Unfortunately, the blue-headed hummingpecker is dying out. According to the PETA site, it's because their long snouts make kissing difficult, and without any teenage romance, the birth rate sharply declines. It's very sad, but since global warming was going to kill them off anyway, what the hell. Thank you for visiting earth, little blue-headed hummingpecker. Better luck next time.
Why yes - that is a F-U 69 Drone developed by the CCX (Chicago Carbon Exchange) in cooperation with the US Department of Energy and NOAA. It flies around homes and apartments measuring energy leakage and waste heat. Once enough data on homes and apartments has been obtained, the "carbon tax" will be instituted based on how much energy those dwellings waste. Each home will assessed based on the drone's data.
The insidious thing is that it uses sugar water for fuel.
