Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Booze and Sex Rule

Yesterday, Instapundit's Glenn Reynolds linked to my serious post, and today to Bird Dog's recipe for a cocktail.


The traffic coming from Instapundit is far higher for Bird Dog's post. We also get much traffic from our more salacious posts.


Now, if we can combine the serious with the lighter fun of life we'd all learn more:



 I'll drink to that.

I get the feeling I'll soon be updating our little 'rules' page again. It started out as "mostly family-friendly". Then it went to "somewhat family-friendly". I believe at the moment it says, "If it's at all possible in the known universe family-friendly". Bird Dog's pretty good with this stuff. I'll have to ask him what the next step down is.

Yikes, love the humor on this site, love the recipes and cocktails...especially love the religion category. However, not caring too much for semi-nude young women. My husband walked by the other day...I have your site on my Google Chrome and it is one of 8 pages that show all of the time. He wonders what on earth I am reading!

Oh, there you go again, showing off your boat knowledge. For you landlubbers, quantum foam is what we use to fill up the hollow area between the outer hull and inner hull. At least, that's what Cap'n Tom uses. I use microwave ovens, 8-channel stereos and fully-stocked wet bars -- but we use our boats for different purposes. His is named "The Serious Minnow". Mine is named "Pardy Hardy". You do the math.

Ahem - to correct a misconception.

Naming conventions for Capt. Tom's boats are as follows: Short Wave, Long Wave, Continuous Wave, Damped Wave, Light Wave and last, but not least, Sky Wave.

That is all.

It's all because you keep featuring drinks that involve clear liquors. Gin. Vodka. White Rums...Bleech! Personally, I do dark liquors. Bourbons or Scotch preferred, although an occasional Rye is an acceptable variation.

Equally, you seem to favor blondes.

If you want traffic, Bourbon and brunettes rule. OTOH, I seem to keep coming back regardless, so maybe you just need to get Instapundent's attention more often.

I can assure you, there are only two teachers in my entire school that look like that... it isn't that common, really. It would be too hard if every teacher looked like that.
