We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
If so, does he sleep, or is he like a shark on the prowl 24 hrs/day? Does he really have a day job as he claims? Or is he a Potemkin Reynolds, with many anonymous folks posting under his name? (Anybody can imitate his style: just be dry, wry and pithy, throw in the random link to Popular Gizmotology or some camera you don't need, or whatever, and end with the occasional "Heh.")
MARK HEMINGWAY: House ’shreds our constitution for raw, ugly, partisan gain’ by vote of 219-206. “So unions now get nearly unrestricted, undisclosed political spending. Further, the restrictions in the DISCLOSE Act only cut one way — against business. If you took TARP funds as a business, express political advocacy is now verboten. So GM has very limited first amendment rights, but even though arguably primary beneficiary of the auto bailout was the United Auto Workers union which got government guaranteed billions directly as a result of the TARP funding — UAW can spend almost whatever it pleases, and it has a history of spending millions on Democratic campaigns. Further, under the DISCLOSE Act if a company has more than $7 million in government contracts, it has no right to political speech. But public sector unions can spend millions of recycled tax dollars campaigning for Democrats, no problem.”
Image is a cardboard cutout of "Glenn Reynolds" in his usual carefully-selected dorky salesman-for-industrial-air-conditioning-parts-business outfit, at some sort of phony staged meeting with a Bob Dylan or Elvis Costello wanna-be. No, we are never jealous or envious at all of the traffic and popularity of others. We are PURE of heart and soul! Aren't you?
I really think it has to be someone posting under his name. If you look at his posts here http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/
imagine for a moment keeping up with this guy, both in terms of how much news one man would need to consume, and keeping a day job. Never mind a family. This may be a husband/wife team similar to Pundit and Pundette. I really would like to see his response to this, because many would like to know more about him/her/them.
On that note, he/she/they is much more of a pure news feed than many. Why? He hardly comments at all on the story he provides, and simply provides a link. Granted most are conservative links, but he doesn't embellish, or add anything. This allows a person to make their own mind up about the content they are about to read without prompting. I KNOW many different bloggers out there use Reynolds as a conservative feedbag, similar to Drudge, etc.
OK, since i'm a night owl, I have often wondered how he does it. He post great links alla time, plus he has a life, and he is a professor? One time i e-mailed him to thank 4 a link. He e-mailed back ! I tend to think he's 4real. Who else would love Tennessee (?) so much?
