Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Walked past the Joyce the other evening. $10 sounds good. Mrs. BD was trying to remember how many times she has seen Appalachian Spring.


I remember when old Martha herself would wobble out to the stage at the end of the performances.

Martha herself would wobble out to the stage

Ha, I remember Martha herself in her last year performing. She didn't so much wobble as just stand there with the occasional helping hand from the other dancers. I'm getting to the point where I can truly sympathize... I don't think Appalachian Spring was one of her best.

BD ... I can remember when good old Martha was young enough not to wobble. And so was I.
