We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Tomorrow is the California primary. Mickey Kaus, blogger extroadinnaire, is running against Barbara Boxer in the Democrat contest. Mickey knows he has no chance of winning. Neither did William Buckley in NYC. Can't be ignored. Can be adored.
That's a mouthful --yes, one thinks of a good many honorable 'men of the left' --and no you can't find 'em anymore except in lit history classes studying the American 30s.
Pickin's have been especially skimpy since Daniel Patrick Moynihan left us.
Pretty funny that he debated a cardboard box because boxer wouldn't show up. (The cardboard is smarter)
I agree with him on most of his add - CA, the Unions, and the federal government have chased real businesses out of the state and often out of the country. The GM / Toyota joint venture factory is shutting down too - GM pulled out and no way will Toyota deal with the UAW. The Pontiac Vibe was and excellent car, my company was buying them for deliveries.
