Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Note to dems who want to legalize 15-20 million aliens...

1. No other country in the world would allow millions to invade their country illegally, take jobs away from citizens, and threaten to bankrupt social safety nets...

2. These persons are by and large illiterates in their own home-countries. These are not entrepreneurs, doctors, educators, or highly skilled blue collar workers.

3. By not properly allowing the immigration system to work, we are providing no screening of our applicants for citizenship. Know that we are getting the criminal element along with the poor.

4. Thank god we have persons who want to come here...Let's make sure we are getting the cream of the crop. This is something that every organization has to do as an act of self preservatian, i.e. job interviews, testing, background checks...

5. And finally, I think many in Washington think that these new immigrants will save social security. I submit that these poor persons will be net receivers of social services like social security, medicare, medicaid, foodstamps etc...They will in fact over-burden already bankrupt systems...
